The Erin Soccer Club is always looking for adults or teenagers who would like to be soccer referees. To be a good referee you have to like working with kids and yet be able to deal with adults, enjoy the game of soccer, and learn the rules that govern this sport. Clinics are usually held in March, and again in August, and games are played on Saturday in April, May, September and October. Referees are paid between $15 and $25 per game, depending on the age level of the kids playing. Anyone 8th grade or older is eligible to become a certified referee.
Refereeing has many benefits. It is a great way to learn the game. It will also help you as a spectator, a coach, as well as a player. Most importantly, it is a great way to help your club.
